Why I am supporting Macmillan Cancer Support

In October, I will be participating in the Chatelherault 10k to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

This is a charity that’s particularly close to my heart.

My auntie Sandra was cared for by Macmillan in the final days of her battle with cancer, so I’ve seen first-hand the difference their support can make — not just to the person living with cancer, but to the people around them too.

Cancer affects so many of us. 1 in 2 people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lives.

Macmillan provides support in so many ways — from medical care and financial assistance to emotional and practical support — helping people and their families through some of the most difficult times imaginable.

So, as part of Alan Cares, I want to do something positive and raise money to help Macmillan continue that vital work.
